Karren’s involvement in the club spans from being the club’s manager to instructing TeamSpin, Rocit, group and personal training.
Keith Brokaw, Front Desk Manager / Personal Trainer
“The only bad workout, is the one that didn’t happen”...Keith is our Front Desk Manager and a certified Personal Trainer. During his high school years, he lettered in Football, Wrestling, and Crew. Keith served for 5 years in the United States Marine Corps as a member of a light attack helicopter squadron. He deployed three times (Iraq twice and Afghanistan) and fought in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. After his time in the service he moved to sunny San Diego where he began his career in the fitness industry. In addition to coaching high school football, Keith enjoys hiking and hitting the beach with his dog Barney.
Yaila Weddle, Nutritionist
Yaila is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and recognized by the American Association of Drugless Practioners. She is an experienced public speaker and host of nutrition workshops throughout San Diego. She specializes in one-on-one nutrition counseling. Her training and approach is based on the concepts of Bio Individuality and Primary Food. That means each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs, and those needs are affected by all factors involved in our daily lives. She will work with you step-by-step to recognize where the imbalances lie and how to implement changes to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep and maximizing energy.
Erica Rood, Yoga Instructor
Erica was introduced to yoga as a child and completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance training in 2011. Erica believes yoga offers the opportunity for a lifetime of learning. This belief motivated her to continue to explore various styles and practices, including workshops with renown yoga teachers including: Shiva Rea, Sean Corne, Bryan Kest, Simon Park and Carolina Vivas. Erica is committed to the transformative power of yoga and its capacity for providing balance in the mind and body. Students enjoy her fluid Vinyasa style sequences, which cultivate strength, stability, flexibility and ultimately enjoyment. Erica is also a certified Teen Wisdom coach and blends yoga and coaching in her yoga empowerment programs for teens and mother daughter pairs.
Maria Anderson, Yoga Instructor
Maria completed her 500 hour yoga teacher training in Utah, 2007. She was trained by Dana Baptiste in many styles: Power Vinyasa Style, Core, Restore, Yin, Yoga Nida, Pre-Natal, Mommy & Me, Yoga for Athletes and Meditation. Along her spiritual journey, Maria became a Reiki healer in 2011 and feels so blessed to bring in the beautiful Divine healing energy to her classes. She strives to live her life in Gratitude and is grateful every day as she supports her students on their personal journey in yoga.
Raquel Mussali, Zumba Instructor
Originally from Mexico City I have always loved to dance and be connected to music. I have been a dancer since I was 5 years old. I have been a Certified Zumba instructor since 2012 and love what I do. I am recognized for my energetic and fun classes. I have been married to my husband for 16 years and have three beautiful children. Come have a great workout as you Zumba with me!
Mark Kern, Personal Trainer,NASM, NSCA, FMS
Mark has always been fascinated with human performance, and wellness. Mark competed for 4 years on the UCSD Rowing Team and was an Assistant Rowing coach in 2001. He completed in his first marathon this past year and has enjoyed running half marathons over the past few years. Mark also has a passion for hiking, especially where there are challenging day hikes to be found. Mark currently works as a Personal Trainer, as well as a TeamSpin and Gravity instructor.
Robert Martin, Personal Trainer
Robert is a certified personal trainer, group instructor, and competitive age group endurance athlete. He competes in races from 5K to marathon distance and triathlon. Robert is a 2010 and 2011 Team Aquaphor Sponsored Athlete. Robert has six years experience as a trainer of athletes from high school to Masters Level. Robert understands that there is no one fitness program that is best for everyone, so every program is carefully developed for the individual goals, circumstances, and abilities of each client. He believes the keys to healthy living, consistent gains, and injury prevention are Balance, Moderation, and Variety in daily living and training.
Johanna Casler, Metabolic Specialist, NASM, ACE
Johanna is a Metabolic Specialist, Personal Fitness Trainer & Fitness Nutrition Specialist. She is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and American Counsel on Exercise. She has 25 years of industry experience. She specializes in providing in-depth proprietary metabolic fitness assessments using state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Her exercise programs are designed specifically for cardiovascular and core featuring her proprietary training protocols, CardioZone® and CoreZone® Johanna is a CEC provider specializing in continuing education for fitness professionals.
Carlso Civit, Personal Trainer
Carlos is a former sponsored pro athlete with more than a dozen Ironman competitions worldwide, participant in the ITU World Cup Championship with the Spanish National Team and former professional boxer and kick boxer. He is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and Performance Enhancement Specialists. Not only is he an experienced personal trainer and group exercise instructor; he also has experience coaching elite athletes. He was the founder and publisher for the Spanish sport magazine, Revista Competidor and author of 13 Training Schedules for Triathlons. He brings extensive knowledge and experience for his clients looking to begin or improve their cycling and boxing training.

Michael McArdle, Ph.D. is a Learning Researcher who focuses on neuroscience and human development. He is a certified Spinning instructor, a USPTA Tennis Professional and an avid cyclist, runner, swimmer, and golfer.
